Story:
How the "Khan Academy" is working to reinvent the current education system...
He has founded the Khan Academy (www.khanacademy.org) which shares with the world for free - a video library with videos on topics ranging from simple addition to calculus, computer graphics, genetics and much more, for students, and graphical metrics, charts and reports for the teachers which track students' statistics in real time.
A true paradigm shift!
Aim - To impart access to best in class education material - in the form of videos - and a system which caters to the individual educational needs of the students.
Reach - Schools, colleges, institutes throughout the world
Challenge - Infrastructure bottlenecks
1. Typical "one size fits all" classroom style education not being effective
2. Chance of using technology and social media - currently missing by a great extent
3. Lack of structure in the education syllabus
4. Typical stereotype tracking and benchmarking of students based on grades

You're are correct up to some instant Aron. However, the learning center and tutoring services are basic needs today. Parents don't depend completely on the schools and thereby enroll their children in several competitive Test prep.

The idea that education in advance of need is simply a precautionary step is not a new one. Clearly, "just-in-time" delivery of knowledge and instruction is good. How is the simple delivery switch going to transform an entire bureaucratic system that has been institutionalized over 400 hundred years. And, more importantly, will employers accept the "i learned it on my own" as a guide for making hiring decisions? I'm not saying, that Khan U won't have some affect on how education is delivered, but as to if it will change the educational landscape is yet to be seen. Moreover, how will that change be fostered going forward?
