Me in Three
- What makes me tick is knowledge and education. After 20 years in the trenches of software development, I decided to get my MBA and really got turned on with strategic management. I continued to feel that software applications were not meeting user needs adequately, so I went to the Institute of Design in Chicago and earned a masters in design methods, focused on tools/methods/frameworks to understand humans more deeply and use that to further the strategic intent of a company.
- I thrive on finding out "what is next". Curiosity about everything keeps driving me forward. I love Drucker's view that there are 2 main functions of a business: innovation and marketing. I'm all about the innovations.
- I don't enjoy operations management and the way management functions today. I like to know what direction a company needs to head, then help people understand how to get there. I don't want to spend my efforts proving the past, I want to invent the future.
