Transcend traditional management trade-offs

Summary

In any organization, we need to start at the top and work our way down-and figure out a way to give everyone respect, give them the training they need, give them something that's going to motivate them in an honest and hopefully not manipulative way to better themselves and better the company.

Any Management looking to transform itself should first open its books. This gives every person in the company direct input to the budget for each year, a step likely to scare any traditional manager. It's like Indiana Jones searching for the Lost Ark, At one point he's running through this cave and he comes to this cliff and there's nothing there. The other side is a long way off, and he's supposed to take that step. And that's exactly what it feels like in the beginning as companies open their books and start speaking to individuals who've never had that responsibility.

Problem

The current Scenario is Employees come to know about their company's performance only when they actually decalre results. Other than that except to some folks in Finance department, the general employees won't have any idea on how good or bad their company is actually doing.

Solution

The idea of self-directed teams is nothing new to the business world. Still, may organizations lack a firm understanding of what this new style of management is all about.
There could be four stages in the process of forming teams: forming, storming, norming, and performing. The teams set their own times for working. They do their own hiring and firing. They are, in essence, become businesspeople, who are aware of what's going on in the company, knowing that they will benefit if our customers benefit.""

And that's the kind of management we might rightly call it as Management 2.0

Practical Impact

By letting the employees understand the actual performance of the company, they would themselves try to bring in new ideas for the development of the company. tis could infact prevent the trade-offs between employee and HR department

First Steps

As a First step employees should be educated about the company's performance in the past and it's plans going forward and thereby invite employees particpation in the management.
