STAY INTERVIEWS

By Dave Whitman on June 24, 2013

Utilize a formalized Interview process with employees in their current role that mirrors what a new applying candidate would experience if their current job were to be posted in today's market.

This will allow tenured employees with the ability to see how the current expectations for their role continues to be raised and continues to morph as the needs of the business change. These interviews can be completed inline with performance reviews to help the employee and manager identify future areas of growth and development that the employee should pursue to remain relevant and aligned to the direction of the group/organization.

This will also allow the employee to give input into what type of comp. and ben. systems and other related items that they would like to see from their organization inorder to keep them satisfied and engaged in their work with the company. This would provide valuable insight to the organization as to what employees are looking for going forward which will help them to remain comepetitive in terms of the overall employee value proposition both internally as well as to the external job market.

Not sure I fully agree with this one. I would much prefer to see Career Coaching approach which could achieve similar benefits.

Thanks for the comment Heidi. I think you raise an interesting point, perhaps there is room for both as though there are certainly areas of overlap I do think that each brings something unique to the table.
