The Combination of Business and Education for a Workforce Promotion

The matter of workforce is one of the main prerogatives of northern Nevada employers. The Washoe K-12 Education Foundation, the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) and the Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce are going to hold a special event, which is dedicated to the proper education of students for the purposes of these organizations. Their leaders believe that proper development of educational program will significantly help them in the future, as they will get the workers of top-class with advanced skills.

There are going to be introduced four-year programs at the local schools of the district. These programs are targeted at the proper preparation of the younger generations for the more specified profile. They will be career-oriented and will open multiple doors in the sector of industries. However, the programs will differ because a lot depends on the specification of each school. They will start from the 9th grade. The students would receive a chance of receiving college credits and in some occasions, industry certificates.

Such essential project is the new future of the community, which is directed by Ryan. Today, about 40% of schools of the district already use the programs. The hopes are that this number will reach the point of 50% by the year 2020.
