I'm CEO of a startup company focused on changing our work norms and management practices with software. I believe the ultimate organization development intervention can be a new software system. All software is normative, and this awareness puts added responsibility on the designer to be conscious of the norms the system embodies and the behaviors it reinforces.
I started the HR Systems, Technology and Innovation Group at Apple Computer in 1986. Over the next 4 years my team developed and implemented the first-ever electronic office - electronic forms, workflow, signature security - for an employee population of 5,000. I've been pioneering innovations in HR and work management systems ever since.
I live in Half Moon Bay, Ca. with my wife and 6 children who range in age from 14 to 32. I have lots of opinions and experience with raising kids that I love to share. I play the French Horn in the local orchestra. I've played tennis doubles almost every Sunday morning for the past 20 years, and I just completed my 6th running of the Bay to Breakers.
