I strive to understand how minds (individual, group and machine) actually work and to use that understanding to solve social problems, improve organizations and create new products/services. I have seen how small insights into the minds of employees, customers or students can lead to dramatically improved outcomes.
Applied Philosophy. I work to translate the insights and methods of traditional philosophy into useful tools for meeting the basic challenges in business today. We need a fundamental rethinking of value, knowledge, leadership and other core concepts in business and that requires a philosophically rigorous approach.
Re-engineering the Knowledge Empire. I use new technologies, legal constructs and organizational forms to change how we create, share, use and protect knowledge to generate social and economic value. Entire industries, for example, healthcare delivery and education, are struggling because we have yet to figure out "the knowledge thing."
