Me in Three
- My first job (other than mowing the lawn) was as a caddy, where I learned about courtesy and paying close attention. My second job was selling men's clothes, where I learned about....well....selling, and also about how important it is to satisfy a customer. In my third job, I was a working musician. After that...serial entrepreneur, beginning with 15 years in a design-oriented manufacturing business (see www.talabastudio.com, for a blast from the past), and ending up in software development. As it turned out, being courteous, paying attention, selling, and satisfying customers were very, very good lessons.
- I'm in the process of discovering that simple carbohydrates are very, very bad things to eat (at least, they are for me), and that eliminating them completely is far easier than I thought it would be.
- Our current enterprise is dedicated to 'making the workplace a better place to work', and you know, I think it's working. As Margaret Mead said: "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." Perhaps some of that magic is happening here 'in the MIX', too.
