Me in Three
- Key ambition: Bridgebuilding across cultures. That is a key focus. Companies and individuals can do much more together if we manage to communicate effectively together. Focus on similarities not differences. Firm believer in the strengths of diversity. Basically we are all the same, but differences need to be professionally moderated. Fluency in Scandinavian languages, English, German and French is a great help. Facilitating multicultural encounters. Setting the stage for inspiring, challenging and innovative meetings. Published a book on personal communication - getting your messages across in November 2010. How do you break barriers of criticism, scepticism and lack of concentration with most audiences? Creating energy, enthusiasm and commitment. Without this, nothing happens. I provide ideas, tools and models to make this happen. And help companies get it done. Have you ever tried fitness training? A good coach can work wonders. He pushes you and makes you accomplish things you never thought possible. Alex Fergusson pushed Manchester United for many years - if you like soccer.:)
- Enjoy fitness and tennis. In my younger days I played both soccer and tennis at competitive level. Now I focus on tennis and daily excursions to a local fitness centre. A wonderful stage for people watching. Provides an excellent metaphor for leadership - if you want to move things, you need to train, the more you put in, the more you get out etc. It is fun. Spend wonderful days in Sondrup Bakker with my wife Ditte who is a gynaecologist at Aarhus University Hospital. Help her on her pet project a website aimed at relations between grandparents and grandchildren - cf www.borneborn.dk - a very interesting project. On this site grandparents can share ideas about e.g. what to do with grandchildren and they can discuss dilemmas.
- Invented a musical leadership concept in 2000. The idea: getting companies, organsiations and institutions to sing as a choir. Great fun, makes everybody let their guards down. Imagine an entire company performing as a professional choir. The concept clearly shows why conductors/leaders matter. How they matter is a great topic for discussion. The aim:To get people to sing more or less from the same song sheet. To choose a repertoire that will sell tickets. And to get the best out individual voices. Grand vision: What if the European Council, The G20 or the US Senate performed as a choir ?
