Implementing Nonaka`s Middle-Up-Down management model

In his inspiring book "The Knowledge Creating Company" Nonaka, one of the pioneers in hacking obsolete management beliefs and practices, describes the key role of the middle managers in encouraging innovation in organizations.

In our work we have found that it works much better than the Top-Down Management model and better than the Bottom-Up too.

I am surprised that after almost 20 years since it was first published - this idea of Middle-Up-Down is still waiting for us to spread it and implement it in all organizations, especially the big ones.

Focus on empowering middle managers to be more entrepreneurial and to hack what does no longer work and try something new every day - is a worthy challenge.
