Too many people in our lives believe that we all work to maintain a lifestyle outside of work. We go on about the work/life balance yet very few manage to find that happy medium. But what if we change the culture around work and give people reason to do it other than monetary reasons. This hack looks at developing a Play to Innovate Cycle which talks about creating the culture around making work enjoyable while reaping the benefits of innovation and creativity.
This flow is simply identified as a mix between the learning cycle , and innovation cycle that are already known particularly within the scientific community. Managers who understand the way these cycles work can set the conditions within the work environment and measure the effectiveness. The flow of the cycle is illustrated below and each component can be shown with how Google operates.
Not every company has a Burning Man Festival nearby to take their employees too, and that’s not what is suggested. The first step to building a workplace environment that will foster innovative change is to have fun, the rest follows.
