I like to dance with the elephant in the room. Sometimes it's a waltz, the Texas two-step, or even disco. Silently tip-toeing around issues only perpetuates the status quo, and so not what I want to do with the second act of my life. In this act, I'll even invite elephants to dance!
Sunrise and sunset are my favorite times of day. I'm a big "both/and" thinker so the contrasts and the necessity of creative tensions appeal to me. Unyielding ideologies and I win/you lose approaches remind me of starched white shirts - so uncomfortable and out of place in today's world of connections. The soft stuff is under-valued, and where I think we need to start.
I love how technology has revolutionized how we live and connect. Yet I still like doing things the old-fashioned way from time to time. Like using a fountain pen and really good paper to write a thank-you note. Walking down the hall and talking to someone face-to-face instead of sending an email. Curling up in a comfy chair on a rainy Saturday afternoon and turning the pages in a real book. Good stuff.
