Barrier:
Resistance to organizational change is often/usually seen as something to overcome but it may actually save your change effort
I've got a new book forthcoming ( http://www.sup.org/book.cgi?id=16531 ) that is based on the research that I did for my Ph.D. that places resistance to organizational change as a natural, organic part of the change process. You may find it useful when it ships in December.
Regards,
Aaron

Hi Aaron:
Looking forward to the release of your book. As you know, a leader's chances for compressing the time frame for change, as well as the effectiveness of the change are tied directly to allowing the followers to take ownership of the change effort.
Some key impact drivers include the followers' paychecks, their work environment, their standard of living, their level of self-actualization, and the interpersonal aspects at play. Eric Schillinger
