I was an early participant in the Open Source movement and an early employee at Red Hat, Inc where I was able to grow a strong sense of what it means to be transparent and how to apply it to many areas of life including business and leadership.
Through many years of studying music theory and practice, formally and on my own, I still find myself thinking of most tasks within a lens of musical patterns and approaches. Often this is helpful, at times it can be more obfuscation than necessary - but I wouldn't trade music for anything else in life.
I have a strong drive to follow the sage advice of the great Brian Wilson who said, "Beware the lollipop of mediocrity - lick it once and you suck forever"
